ABOUT
Susan McAdams found her passion for design and art at a very early age. Growing up in a household of artists, she learned the intimate connection between art and the space in which one lives. She discovered when designing her own homes as well as those of her clients that every detail must follow the principles of fine art: line, color, shape, form, value, space and texture. When successfully implemented, a sense of visual and psychological harmony is achieved, transforming a house into a true home.
Anyone can visit a design showroom and throw together a collection of furnishings, accessories and decorative items, but the challenge in creating a livable space is to tap into what is personal and meaningful to the homeowner. Every detail must have significance and serve as an extension of the people who live in that space. Susan develops a close connection with each of her clients in order to understand what is meaningful to them as individuals. No two homes can be alike, as no two human beings are ever alike.
Susan earned a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and later completed with distinction a Certification in Interior Design/Architecture at UCLA Extension. In addition to her many design projects, she has overseen the complete renovation of three Los Angeles residences, co-designed a drought-tolerant landscape project that was featured on the 2014 Pacific Palisades Garden Tour and designed her own furniture pieces for challenging spaces.
